Busy Slacking

Posted by ROKTRONIK On August - 30 - 2010

Greetings all–it’s great to be back!

One might say that our excuse for the recent lack of posting holds about as much validity as a, “the dog ate my homework.”  However, truth be told, we’ve been diligently working on a variable cornucopia of projects including a music festival, a new dirty-electro/dub concept, an apparel line, and a first-ever live DJ performance!  Needless to say, there will be huge announcements in the near future so stay tuned!!

We promised many of you that there would be a re-cap featuring some of the songs dropped during our debut boat-party set…buuuut, being that it’s a Monday, we figured that the last thing you’d want to be listening to are dirty dutch bleeps, beeps, bloops and doops–don’t worry, you’ll get your fix of filth later on this week.  So in true Monday Morning fashion (the slacker edition), we will be featuring some of our most recent favorite chillaxed tracks (unmixed) that will undoubtedly ease you into the week…

Warrior Teamwork

Posted by ROKTRONIK On July - 22 - 2010

With 5 different artists collaborating on this single remix, we were a bit skeptical at first as to what the outcome would be…especially considering the fact that three different styles of music were involved with this crossover track.

But, just as the Swedish House Mafia/Pharrell/Caspa successfully executed an incredible version of “One (Your Name)”, the quintuplet responsible for the LA Riots remix of the song, “Warrior”, will dispel any doubt whatsoever upon first listen of their cohesive masterpiece.

The variety definitely works for them as the sick vocals of Anjulie meld seamlessly with the melody while LA Riots steps out of their box to splice a dub step cameo in their electro rendition of this jam.

J.O.B – Warrior (LA Riots Remix) by LA Riots

And to top it all off, we’ll include the brand new LA Riots “Summer 2010 Mix” for free download as well!

Back in Action

Howdy all!

Sorry for the brief hiatus with our posts. Apparently regulation in China is a bit more extreme than we thought. Facebook, Twitter, and even Youtube are all blocked out there. One thing’s for sure though, they do know how to party balls in China. We can attest to many long nights juggling massages, food, and partying. A typical day in mainland China would go a little something like this: Wake up, eat dim-sum, get an hour-long foot-scrub/full-body massage, eat a meal consisting of fresh local veggies and protein, tour the countryside, get an hour-long hair wash/full-body massage, eat a large family style meal, go out and play multiple drinking games at a club, eat a late night meal in a private dining room with more booze, party again at another club with a private room and our own personal DJ, and finally sleep (if that). This was our itinerary pretty much every day. However, while that all sounds amazing, there was a downside to partying out there…the beats were absolutely awful. Listening to their music was like taking a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick to the face with every bass thump. Along with annoying happycore/eurotrance, below is an example of some of the crap they play (and enjoy):

We’re sure that you can imagine the degree of amusingly terrible dancing that accompanied such music.

Good thing our party rooms came stocked with our own DJ who played our CDs featuring “good” music like…

Kings of Leon – Be Somebody (Telemetry Remix)
