OK…so you must be thinking, “how the hell does this guy fit into rock or electronic??” Well, to be perfectly honest, he doesn’t really – but that doesn’t deny the fact that he is an amazing performer with talent that goes beyond his Soul/Funk comfort zone. In his last concert, along with rocking out to all his go-to songs, Lidell also tossed in a percussion solo, beat-box session, live computer beats and a MJ P.Y.T. tribute…we assure you, he’s worth seeing.

TORTURED SOUL

First of all, it takes a certain caliber of DJ, band or musician to make it on the ticket for the Electric Daisy Carnival in Los Angeles (video above is from EDC this year). That being said, the funky house beats of Tortured Soul alone should be reason enough for you to come to this show. With the motto, “We don’t stop, because you don’t stop,” percussionist and lead singer Christian Urich plays continuously throughout live concerts going from one song to another with no break. Sounds like our kind of show.

If you don’ t know about DANGER, you definitely should…however, you can’t be blamed considering the difficulty it takes to discover anything about this guy due to his elusive and mysterious nature – all of his performances and interviews (in which, by the way, he has an interpreter for since he doesn’t talk directly to the camera) are done completely masked from head to toe…and the guy even deleted his own Wikipedia page! Here’s all that we can tell you about him:

Real name Franck Rivoire, DANGER is an electro DJ from Lyon, France. All of his productions are titled by hour with his EP titled 09/14/2007. His ingenious incorporation of 80s action-film sounds and original beats evoked by various emotions put him at the top of the electro totem pole for sure. Couple that along with his incredible artwork, videos and performances and you’ll see the embodiment of what an all-around rock star artist should be. “More than mere music, Danger, who was strongly influenced by videogames as a teenager, creates a full-fledged universe where these elements interact and complement each other.”

Yeah, it’s safe to say that we’d fly to France to see him perform.
